General election 2024
As we approach the General Election on 4 July, tax policy is an area of hot debate, with different parties making commitments such as not raising the rates of particular taxes like VAT (Labour and Conservatives), and announcing that they will introduce targeted increases such as on social media companies to fund child mental health services (Lib Dems) and to employer national insurance on non-UK nationals (Reform)
As well as big headline announcements, more information about tax policy is gradually being released by the contending parties. We will keep this page updated as more news comes through, and when the official manifestoes are released.
