Equilibrium Financial Consultancy founder joins Evelyn Partners’ Glasgow office

Evelyn Partners, the leading integrated wealth management and professional services group created from the merger of Tilney and Smith & Williamson, has announced that Callan Anderson, the founder and owner of boutique financial planning business Equilibrium Financial Consultancy, will be joining its Glasgow office.

Callan, who has run Glasgow-based Equilibrium for the past 18 years and is a Chartered financial planner, joins Evelyn Partners as part of its succession programme. The scheme gives financial advisers approaching retirement an opportunity to migrate their clients to a new, long-term home with a high-quality wealth management proposition.

Richard Dawes, Head of Strategic Partnerships at Evelyn Partners commented: “Our succession programme has generated a great deal of interest since its launch in late 2021 and I am delighted that Callan is joining us in our Glasgow office as part of it. Callan has an established business working with clients in Scotland and the wider UK. This agreement means they will continue to receive a high-quality, personalised service while also benefiting from the investments we have made in the proposition and our technology. Evelyn Partners’ presence in 26 towns and cities in the UK, as well as the Republic of Ireland and the Channel Islands, will allow him to offer his clients a more localised service, no matter where they are based.”

Paul Frame, Regional Managing Partner for Scotland and Northern Ireland at Evelyn Partners commented: “I am very pleased to be able to welcome Callan to our Glasgow office as part of the adviser succession programme. Following our recent re-brand to Evelyn Partners, this agreement demonstrates our commitment to continue growing our advice business in Scotland while at the same providing Callan’s clients with the assurance that they will continue to receive a personalised service from our team for many years to come. We look forward to working closely with Callan to ensure an orderly transition for his clients.”

Callan added: “The cornerstone to my business has for the past 18 years been built around putting my clients first and to recognise the responsibility of looking after what is invariably their life savings.  The sheer volume of regulation that has weighed upon small firms during this time is forcing vast numbers to consolidate with bigger, better resourced partners.  As I move to join Evelyn Partners, I take great comfort in the fact that this follows the same path of doing my very best for my clients and without compromise.  Like me, Evelyn Partners strives to do the very best for its clients as formally recognised by the string of leading industry awards that the business has won in recent years.”

Evelyn Partners’ team in Scotland was recently boosted by 10 joiners in Edinburgh from firms Capital Risk Management and MP2 Financial under the succession scheme. The group has deep roots in Scotland dating back to the foundation of Smith & Williamson in Glasgow in 1881. Today, as Evelyn Partners, it operates from offices in Scotland’s three largest cities: Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen.
